Another year begins the Black Friday and Christmas campaign, where we expect to double the volume of online orders compared to the previous year. According to our calculations, we estimate to exceed the distribution of more than 4 million fashion, home, sports and lifestyle items, from more than 25 different brands, grouped into more than 1.4 million orders, throughout the double commercial campaign that begins in Spain this week.
An atypical season that, due to the current situation of international ports and the delays in production as a result of the health crisis, could even mean a higher increase than expected, if it were not harmed by market conditions.
On the first day of Black Friday alone, which begins at 00:00 on Friday, 26 November, an avalanche of orders is expected to manage around 1.5 million items. This year, the number of products per order has increased from 2.3 to 3.2 units due to increased sales from the jewellery, costume jewellery and home categories.
To address these peaks in demand, we have reinforced our services, with a significant increase in staff, adding a total of 2,500 new hires, distributed among all our centres specialised in e-commerce.
In addition, we have been in charge of the training and preparation of the human team to face this new campaign successfully. In the same way, we are working on making the processes flexible and scalable, allowing us to assume large peaks in demand.
“The three pillars on which we rely to ensure optimal operational management in this demanding campaign lie in a particularly good planning, the correct sizing of the equipment, and the essential support and accompaniment of technology and systems. All this is essential to face large volumes of orders,” explains Jose Manuel Sinova, Country Manager Spain at Logisfashion.
There is a lot of expectation for this year, as it can lead to different situations. Therefore, we have carried out a full deployment, both of infrastructures and innovations and of the human team, to respond to the strong increase in e-commerce activity during the online shopping campaign planned during Black Friday and Christmas.
