Let us imagine a distribution centre to use, like the one we all have in our minds right now. With its endless corridors, its kilometre-long racks, its conveyor belts, forklifts and packages, so many packages. A mishmash that alone would not work properly if it were not for people and, of course, for technology, essential to know every detail of what takes place therein and to manage, monitor and optimise, a great feat, all the tasks that are carried out inside…
Data Platform: The 4.0 Revolution
…Now let’s delve deeper into the unseen technology. The one that groups, analyses and selects the large volumes of data that flow into organizations every day, which helps make wiser decisions in business development. A direction in which Logisfashion strides, which as a Data Driven company has as a priority to develop sturdy projects, supported by data that allow us to delve into the use of tools such as artificial intelligence, business intelligence, machine learning, IoT and big data to continue growing.
At Logisfashion, the Data Platform project was launched 5 years ago. Since then, our in-house team works hand in hand with Microsoft and technology partners such as Plain Concepts and Bertia, applying technologies such as Microsoft Synapse to develop and enhance the capabilities of our own data processing platform, which functions as a 100% cloud-based platform. This means we go beyond being a logistics operator and makes us a partner that takes advantage of technology to offer end-to-end logistics to our customers, as we have business intelligence that allows us to improve processes on a day-to-day basis and make wiser decisions thanks to the data on hand.
Precisely, this Data Platform is able to intelligently convert and arrange 180 million data items per day, but also to be scalable, when processing data according to the needs of our business to face the peaks of campaigns such as sales or Black Friday, among others.
This is not us boasting: according to Microsoft, we are among the 5% of flagship companies that have this technology applied.
This allows us to deploy a hybrid digital ecosystem that integrates the most innovative technological solutions to maximise the experience of our customers (customer portal, API, ad hoc integration) and continue to drive our growth. Thanks to this, we have our own WMS (warehouse management), called Logiscore, which improves based on our experience and offers a BI module that strengthens data exploitation for daily decision-making and real-time connection.
We also boast the LGF FWD platform, which helps us oversee international transport operations, with visibility and traceability of the entire process from vendor order management, control of milestones per shipment, PO and SKU tracking, alongside alert automation.
Or the Last Mile Control Tower APP, which connects us to the last link in the supply chain: the distribution and management of the last mile, to offer our customers the different options of sending orders according to their needs (fast shipping, low price, zones, etc.), dashboards with the information and KPIS that provide the visibility of their products and the traceability necessary to streamline operations and cost-effective processes.
Now it is time to delve even deeper and visualise a modern distribution centre, though with robots that facilitate and help the work of employees; smart industrial vehicles such as AGVs, designed for eCommerce and to automate the picking process; cutting-edge technologies that ensure that operations maintain an excellent level of service, without failures, even in sales peaks; or those that grant the installation of extraordinary growth capacity based on the needs of customers, offering the possibility of optimizing the Layout and its redesign in flows to cover peak demand.
Technologies that we are committed to at Logisfashion, to offer our partners innovative, quality and safe services in every link of the value chain.
Backing technology and security as a cornerstone of growth
This clear backing of innovation likewise means we are constantly alert to maintain the safety standards and commitment we offer our customers. Therefore, it is also of the utmost importance to hold certifications such as ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System), which endorses our good practices in this matter, provides us with a framework for information security management systems (ISMS) in order to provide confidentiality, integrity and continuous availability of information, as well as legal compliance, and places us at the forefront vis-à-vis the demands of the major players in the market.
In short, technology helps us streamline end-to-end logistics we offer our customers, as it allows us to have a clear view of the business; it facilitates, and much, decision-making in each of our strategic lines and improves our processes day by day, to learn from the different customer experiences with which we work. Because your trust in Logisfashion is what really matters. And technology helps us accomplish this.
