Prevention of Occupational Risks, a priority at Logisfashion
Our human team’s wellbeing and health is a matter we take very seriously at Logisfashion. Because nothing is that urgent that it cannot be carried out safely. For this reason, at our Prevention of Occupational Risks Division we stand alongside our professionals on a daily basis, with the aim of them prioritizing their health and safety while undertaking their tasks.
To accomplish this, we make strident efforts so that our team is well versed in the risks inherent to their professional activity. This endows them with awareness of the need to prevent illnesses and accidents through responsible conduct, practices and behavior that adapt to their working posts, always complying with legislation in force on occupational health and safety.
This has allowed us to boast excellent safety records, which enables us to continue striving towards accomplishing our target of zero accidents. In this way, our ORP boosts satisfaction in the workplace, commitment and opportunities so that the team as a whole can enjoy a safe and respectful working environment.
How does our Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) program at Logisfashion work?
- At Logisfashion, we provide our professionals with suitable Personal Protection Equipment (PPI) for the tasks they perform, with the aim of minimizing industrial accidents while raising awareness on how their use lessens these risks.
- We also carry out professional training actions in all countries and working centers, with a view to facilitating our team so they attain the knowledge they need to undertake their endeavors in a safe manner, thus avoiding accidents and illnesses.
- Worthy of special mention is our campaign on Musculoskeletal Disorders, who main aim is to raise participants’ awareness on diverse aspects related to ergonomics, such as suitable working postures, sizing and weights of loads, use of transportation equipment, proper stacking techniques and the importance of good visibility.
Our Prevention of Occupational Risks Division features good communications throughout the team, which aids in better defining the preventative measures to be implemented and the choice of adequate preventative means with which to perform each task. Its components are on-hand at all our centers, in order to listen to any doubts workers may have regarding the executing of certain tasks and to be able to help them to improve the way these are performed.
This allows us to be close to all the professional and discover their opinions on the ORP team’s work, as a means to carry out tasks safely in all our centers, in which safety conditions are continually under review while in permanent contact with the company’s Health and Safety Committee.
The figures speak for themselves
Similarly noteworthy are the training sessions offered in which around three thousand hours have been invested, offering these courses to approximately 500 people, through which the campaigns on safe work at heights, musculoskeletal disorders, handling carts, amongst others, have been undertaken throughout our centers located in Spain. Their main aim is to raise participants’ awareness on diverse aspects related to ergonomics, such as suitable working postures, sizing and weights of loads, use of transportation equipment, proper stacking techniques and the importance of good visibility.
Yet strides are also made towards other aspects entailing our workers’ wellbeing, providing air conditioning machines to alleviate the elevated temperatures reached in some centers, the procurement of carts to select garments on hangers in order not to require workers to perform undue movements, proper prevention when picking at heights.
Thanks to these processes, musculoskeletal risks, along with those related to safety that have the greatest effect on our works, such as collisions with objects and falls, are prevented.
To sum up, prevention is a long-distance race, involving personal and collective awareness that undergoes change within companies and for their employees on a daily basis, aiming towards a natural manner of working safely. Due to the foregoing, we continue to foster and encourage our staff with a smile on our face, using a term that was coined as a result of a contest held between our workers, which states “Look after yourself. Look after everybody.”
