At Logisfashion we are in luck, because we have strengthened our collaboration with APANAS Toledo, Association of Families of People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, to launch a new project that improves the labour inclusion and quality of life of these people in the province of Toledo.
In this regard, we are incorporating, training and facilitating access to a job for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities belonging to this organisation, in order to advance their social and labour inclusion. The association, through its Training service, which is financed by FSE and JCCM, aims to allow people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn new skills in all areas of life, with a special emphasis on the workplace.
With this initiative, we have already hired 4 people with disabilities with permanent contracts in our centres located in Ontígola (Toledo), who have been assigned a mentor who will be with them throughout their working day. APANAS has subsidised transportation from Toledo to Ontígola during the first 3 months of work. On the other hand, in Toledo we have hired 2 people with intellectual disabilities, also from the Training service, with a permanent contract.
Likewise, with the purpose of promoting the labour inclusion of people and contribute to the development of their life project, APANAS is taking charge of raising awareness among companies, offering them a labour intermediation service.
“We at APANAS appreciate Logisfashion’s collaboration in the labour inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This initiative is essential to advance equal opportunities and the full participation of these people in society. We hope that this alliance can continue to grow and generate more opportunities for people with functional diversity in the workplace”, says María del Mar Azaña, president of APANAS.
According to the latest data from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics, in Spain there are approximately 4.12 million people with intellectual disabilities, which represents about 9% of the total population. In this regard, the activity rate of people with disabilities in Spain was 35.3%, while the employment rate was 25.2%. Figures which indicate the significant margin for improvement in terms of labour integration of people with disabilities in Spain.
With this data, at Logisfashion we seek to continuously collaborate with different social organisations in the different centres we have in Spain. Therefore, with the focus on giving continuity to this initiative, we want to continue committing to the labour inclusion of people with functional diversity, incorporating more profiles into our ranks with the involvement of APANAS.
“At Logisfashion we are committed to the social and labour inclusion of people with functional diversity. This collaboration with APANAS is a sign of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and to the generation of opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are incredibly happy with the incorporation of these people to our team, and we hope to continue adding more profiles with the intermediation of APANAS. We believe that talent has no barriers, therefore we are willing to break them to build a more inclusive and just society for all”, concludes María Vázquez de la Fuente, Director of Labour Relations at Logisfashion.
The commitment to this social initiative is included in the global objectives that are part of a Strategic Plan for Corporate Social Responsibility that we have conducted for years.
