Packing Station to supply the e-commerce channel in a new market

Let’s put ourselves into context: an important Spanish and international fashion brand wants to boost its e-commerce channel in Uruguay urgently. A market in which it had a physical presence of stores that generated a significant volume of sales. Its online channel was logistically supported by the store team (packing store), which was not offering an adequate service to consumers and, in turn, complicated the management of the store team. Given this situation, the possibility of relying on a logistics specialist to improve this management arises.

That logistics operator is Logisfashion Chile, which due to proximity took the challenge, despite not having operations in Uruguay, and in record time it has launched a Packing Station so that this important fashion brand, whose e-commerce sales continue to grow and grow, can manage this channel in a profitable and efficient way.

What has been achieved?

With this service, Logisfashion has managed to offer the client a very specific solution, by being able to distribute their e-commerce orders (product already sold) so that they reach the homes of consumers in a quick and efficient way.

A Packing Station is characterised by being a distribution centre with amazingly fast handling times and truly short storage times. To this end, teams with experience in these processes are needed: that is to say, when the pallet arrives with the items, they are deconsolidated and the packing process is carried out quickly to distribute to the final customers. This requires agility, speed and efficiency since everything that enters has to leave on the same day (Cross dock).

In these first months of service, the productive capacity of the warehouse has had yields much higher than expected, which translates into an average of 650 units processed daily. When the merchandise is received, usually twice a week, a Picking Transfer audit is carried out (reception, work order, etc.) and picking to subsequently classify, package and dispatch the order. In order for each package to reach its final destination optimally, we work together with three leading last-mile companies in the country.

In addition, in periods with high peaks in demand, such as Black Friday or Christmas, both the warehouse and the equipment are prepared to process more than 20,000 orders per day.
